Project CETI (Cetacean Translation Initiative) is scientist-led nonprofit organization and TED Audacious Project applying advanced machine learning and gentle robotics to listen to and translate the communication of sperm whales.


CETI is comprised of representatives from the following institutions: Aarhus University, CENTAI, City University of New York, Dominica Sperm Whale Project, Google Research, Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Massachusetts Institute for Technology’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), Microsoft Research, National Geographic Society, Oxford University, University of California at Berkeley and the University of Haifa.
